What does FXU mean to you?

Falmouth & Exeter Students’ Union – building for the future

As part of work to refresh FXU’s strategy and set a direction of travel to 2020 we want to develop an appropriate vision statement.

It is perhaps worth clarifying exactly what we mean by a vision statement, how it should relate to the mission statement, and the qualities that a good vision statement should have…

Mission statement:
o The type of organisation we would like to be.
o Our purpose and distinctive characteristics.

Vision statement:
o A broad statement of what we intend to achieve during the period covered by our strategy
o A statement of what the FXU will be like, or have accomplished, when we have fulfilled our ambitions for the period.

Here’s our current Vision & Mission statements…

VISION
That every student of Falmouth University and The University of Exeter, Cornwall Campuses has the highest quality of education and the best student experience possible.

What do you think of this vision statement?

MISSION
To provide effective representation for all our students, and to deliver quality services that meet the needs and interests of an ever-changing and diverse student population.

What do you think of this mission statement?

About fxublog

The FXU blog has been set up to allow you to voice your concerns and engage in debate throughout your time at university. Share your thoughts on new development plans and proposals by answering polls and posting comments. We also want to feature real-life accounts of the student experience and regularly include posts written by YOU. We will continue to update the blog as new issues arise, but if you think we've missed something, email us at info@fxu.org.uk with 'Blog' in the subject and we'll pass the message on! You can also find out more about us on the website: www.fxu.org.uk.
