What live music acts would you like to see at a future event?

A student-led event is in the pipeline and the co-ordinators want to know who you want to see.

“Have you heard of the music label Ghetto Funk? Have you heard of these artists: B-Side, The Captain, General Narco, Goodgroove, Hong Kong Ping Pong, Howla, JFB, Lewd Behaviour, Profit, Second Hand Audio, Tigerlight, Tonic, WBBL? If not, here is some more info about the music, artists and events that they are part of.

ghetto funk

The Ghetto Funk brand has been around since 2010 and has had a huge impact on the music and event scene. With their associated artists tearing up some of the biggest festivals in the UK, such as Boomtown and Glastonbury, the Ghetto Funk label and style of music is here to stay and is changing music as we know it .

With artists on their roster such as JFB (now a resident on Radio 1’s Rob da Bank), this popularity is only going to rise.  Check out the ‘Work Out Battle Mix‘ he has done.

Check out Ghetto Funk’s Sound Cloud for a taste of what they are about.

We are trying to bring a mixture of these artist down to Falmouth University for you to get out your skanking shoes and get groovy to while they tear up the dance floor. To make this happen we need your help with a few market research questions. Please spare five minutes of your life to answer a few short questions. It could mean the difference between generic chart music that is everywhere in every place or some of the most talented DJs out there at the minute, throwing down some of the fattest beats in a completely transformed venue.

Are you happy with the normal generic nights out that you could get at your local pub disco or do you want to experience a unique event yet to make its way all the way down to the South West? Only you know the answers we need.”

We will continue to update the blog as new issues arise, but if you think we've missed something, email us at info@fxu.org.uk with 'Blog' in the subject and we'll pass the message on!
