Here’s to house hunting!

It’s time to go… back to basics!

Moving into a house brings lots of questions. You’ve got to think about bills, setting up the internet and deposits, all while still meeting deadlines and attending lectures. You’ll end up looking as panicked as the cat above!

So to make it a bit easier there’s a list of private landlords which you can find here.

Don’t panic if what you’re looking for isn’t there. More houses come on the market throughout this term. I didn’t find my house until April last year!

If you want to read through your rights and advice surrounding housing, this is a great place to check out.

And finally there are housing drop-in sessions in The Compass on Tuesdays fron 10am-12 noon and Fridays from 2-4pm. Plus our advisors are always here if you want to book a confidential appointment.

The moral of the story is, if you feel yourself panicking about housing, contact the accommodation officeFXU advice service (email advice@fxu.org.uk and remember to include a contact number) or email me at vpwelfare@fxu.org.uk.

And before you know it, you’ll be all ready for the real world of bills and responsibility! Just like this dog!

About fxublog

The FXU blog has been set up to allow you to voice your concerns and engage in debate throughout your time at university. Share your thoughts on new development plans and proposals by answering polls and posting comments. We also want to feature real-life accounts of the student experience and regularly include posts written by YOU. We will continue to update the blog as new issues arise, but if you think we've missed something, email us at info@fxu.org.uk with 'Blog' in the subject and we'll pass the message on! You can also find out more about us on the website: www.fxu.org.uk.
