Give It A Go!

How many of you, after eating or drinking a little too much over the festive season, thought about how you should really do some exercise in January?  Or made a New Year’s resolution to try something that you’ve never done before?  I know I did and that is why FXU’s sports clubs and societies, the Fitness Centre and Flexsi are teaming up in the week beginning 13th January to bring you a week full of activities so that you can Give it a Go!

The FXU Activities Team would love to welcome new members to their sessions throughout the week and many will be on hand in the Compass between 11am and 2pm on Wednesday 15th Jan at our annual ‘Refreshers Fayre’.  Fitness Centre classes will be £2 all week and Flexsi have a free climbing wall, slackline and boot camp available to all students on the Wednesday, alongside a whole host of other activities throughout the rest of the week for just £5 Flexsi membership.

Participation in sports and societies is a great way for you to keep healthy and busy while you are studying.  Focusing your thoughts on other activities, sports, games or new skills gives your mind time to relax and de-stress.  These activities give you an excellent opportunity to meet like-minded and new people and can really boost your CV by showing that you have transferable skills that have been gained outside of your degree.

So what are you waiting for? Give It A Go!

Find out more and download the full timetable of activities on our website.
